Because SGD is 32 miles distant and at least 10 miles off-axis, while I activate the approach as soon as I am a mile or so from KAPC on a runway 24 departure, the ILS identifier does not appear until I am a few miles past the turn at SGD on my way to the LUSEE waypoint turn to final bearing in the approach. Verify that the MANUAL TRIM CW box is green while the switch is in the TRIM DOWN position and is black otherwise. One example is KAPC to KSTS ILS 32 approach via the SGD transition. Move the trim switch on the copilot’s control stick to the TRIM DOWN position. As soon as I see the ILS identifier in the PFD the pending LOC and GS appear in white when I click APR and later the ILS performs as I expected as I continue the approach. This happens to me when I am too far off-axis or distant from the LOC runway. FliteCharts -> ChartView requires applying the software unlock card, whereas ChartView -> FliteCharts requires a complete G1000 software re. Available as a standard feature with the TBM G1000 NXi upgrade, Flight Stream 510 enables Database Concierge, the wireless transfer of aviation databases from the Garmin PilotTM app on a mobile device to the G1000 NXi system. I notice that the WT G1000 NXI requires that the ILS identifier be present before the APR button will show pending LOC and GS in white in the PFD annunciator. Connext® wireless cockpit connectivity unlocks more capabilities from within the G1000 NXi integrated flight deck. Not sure if it’s just the NXi or if it happens across other (like the CJ4), I haven’t checked that out yet.Is the ILS identifier present next to the active frequency? This flight plan was created using the World Map and Low-Altitude IFR routes with an ILS approach. On yet another note… The flight planner paths are glitchy sometimes. There’s also some little lines connecting various ends of the green arcs on the dials. When panning around, you can see glimpses of the exterior and environment through these transparent outlines of the white pixels. The black background seems to have “holes” in it around the white lettering/numbering and graphics. On another note… I also notice some weird visual artifacts on the popped-out MFD. This video only shows a brief fraction of its capabilities.Join the Discord (Xbox and PC Simmers welcome)htt. Of course I used the “Altitude Autopilot Lock Var:1” with my Air Manager encoders and panels. I'm pleasantly surprised by the G1000 NXI mod. This worked for me because I have hardware encoders and Air Manager G1000 overlays dedicated to setting AP parameters, so I don’t need the Bravo AP controls. I also un-mapped the Bravo ALT position in the controls settings. I was struggling with it last night and found that if I turned the AP altitude selector knob on my Honeycomb Bravo to another detent (like VS), it worked to hold the AP altitude. Kip has a great VOD on it: MSFS: G1000 NXi Update 0.5.0 - ILS auto-switch / NEXRAD / Traffic / ADF / Declutter / REL TER Mode - YouTube I guess it’s a bit like if you’re not in the ‘capture range’ for ILS you won’t get lateral guidance, and equally if not below the glideslope you won’t get vertical guidance to the runway (setting aside the fact you have to be in approach mode for that too). It’s therefore, I suppose, your responsibility as a pilot to use HDG or hand-fly to get to the magenta line, then GPS should turn green and activate. This means you’re not yet close enough for GPS to activate. So, if you’re not within ‘capture range’ (or off in the other direction) when you switch NAV to GPS, the PFD may well show ‘GPS’ in white whereas it used to show in green. The new NXi 0.5.0 uses a new armed mode for GPS NAV, which means you need to be close to the magenta line (and probably pointing in the direction of the magenta line) for it to automatically kick in. For example the Nav Mod does not work in the AP. ![]()
